We say au revoir to the beautiful village of Uzès today and travel by train to Paris after returning our car in Nîmes. Our hosts have been incredibly generous to us as their guests for the past three nights. We visited Pont du Gard yesterday – such engineering marvel and in such good nick – those Romans were so clever. There have been so many highlights on our trip but Uzes ranks very high. We also visited Avignon and Arles while here and saw some great countryside along the way – beautiful autumn colours everywhere – awesome – Sonia never lies!
Thank you for the fantastic holiday we had in France. Your intinerary fitted us like a glove and the attention to detail meant a care-free holiday. Your knowledge of France and your planning gave us a French experience that suited our needs and interests, and was within our budget. From the moment we left Australia we enjoyed ourselves and were able to do activities we like. The highlight was the week on the barge, Tango, on the Canal du Midi. Only superlatives can describe the canal, the barge, the food and wine, the activities and, of course, the companionship with our fellow travellers. All my research on the web could not give me the knowledge and experience that the people at France Vacations possess. If I had planned the holiday it would not have had the special things you were able to provide, such as the boutique accommodation, a day tour in Gard designed especially for us, and tickets to the opening night of Tosca.
