Day 1: Bordeaux, Saint Emilion & Saint Beauzeil
Pick up in Bordeaux and transfer to Saint-Emilion.
Enjoy a guided visit of the medieval city of Saint-Emilion, UNESCO world heritage site and one of the centres of Bordeaux wine-making. Then, visit and fancy a wine tasting session in Château de Ferrand, Grand Cru classé of Saint-Emilion.
The journey continues to the Quercy region, where you settle into a 17th century Château, your hotel for the next three nights.
Gourmet dinner where you will discover a range of typical dishes and overnight at the Château.
Day 2: Saint-Beauzeil - Foie Gras cooking lesson
After breakfast, the chef cuisinier Guy Hérault, welcomes you into his kitchen for a hands-on cooking lesson, all about the preparation and service of foie gras. At lunch time, relax and savour the fruit of your own labour! Wine is included.
In the afternoon, visit the foie gras farm museum in Frespech, the Abbaye Saint-Pierre in Moissac and the beautiful village of Lauzerte.
Gourmet dinner and overnight at the Château.
Day 3: Saint Beauzeil - Truffle market in Lalbenque
Today is dedicated to the « Black Diamond », the truffle of the Quercy region. Depart for La Grange de Marcillac in Saint-Cyprien for a visit and initiation to the cavage, which demonstrates the techniques of finding the truffles with a dog or a pig. A truffle lunch at the Ferme Auberge will follow.
In the afternoon, visit the world-famous black truffle market of Lalbenque, one of the most important in France. The market is open from December to mid-March. Outside this period, the alternative is to visit Cahors and its famous Pont Valentré. A wine tasting session of these famous Cahors wines will be presented in a Château.
Gourmet dinner and overnight at the Château.
Day 4: Saint Beauzeil / Bordeaux
After breakfast, depart for a guided visit of Bordeaux (UNESCO Heritage). From the vestiges of the Middle Ages to the elegance of the 18th century, you will discover the different golden ages of Bordeaux's history, dominated by the wine trade and various colonial influences.
Transfer to the airport or the train station, from where you can continue your journey.
